Hi guys, I've been missing over the weekend again. Why? Coz I rode Bertha to KL again! muahahahahaha. Went to KL on Fri evening, and I just got back few hours ago, around midnite. Unpacked, wiped off all the dead insects and dirts on my windscreen and fairings, showered, and here I am at my laptop, typing this. Ahhh man, this is the kind of life I've always dreamt about. If only I'm rich enough, don't have to work tomorrow (err...technically, "later" since it's already 1.49am now).
This time, something funny happened to me. On Fri, after I cleared the custom checkpoint, I went to Petronas (right after the toll) to fill up my petrol tank. Once filled, I went in to pay up and bought myself a can of livita. Finished up my drink, and then make sure everything is tightened up, packed nicely in the panniers, and nothing that will shake or make any funny noise. Suddenly, a guy on a small bike stopped right beside me. The first thought I had was, somebody trying to rob me or what. I quickly stood up and look at him, want to show him I'm aware of his presence. Then he (a malay guy) asked...
Him: You Storm Rider uh?
Me: Err...sorry? Storm Rider?
Him: You dunno what is that uh? It's a motorcyle club. I used to be a member, used to ride with them. Now no more. I thought you are Storm Rider.
Me: Ohh..a club, i see. No lah, I'm not a member. I just ride alone.
Him: I used to own an RT also. Mine is 8 years old already. But it's parallel-import one. Even got heated-grip. Yours got uh?
Me: Err..no lah. Dun have. Mine is 6 years old. I just got this bike abt 1 mth plus only.
Him: Good lah, this bike can tour one. I went all the way to Thailand with my RT before. It's a good bike. Luckily no breakdown or anything, except my clutch cable snapped. But I got spare, so I fixed it myself. You want to go touring, make sure you got spare also. RT's clutch cable easily can snap one.
Me: Is it uh? Heh....I don't think I know how to fix anything yet lah. Now still trying to familiarise with riding on it.
Him: Never mind lah, once you ride it long enough, then you'll start to want to open up the fairing, fix things yourself.
Me: Haha, not yet lah.
Him: Where are you going?
Me: I'm going to KL.
Him: Alone uh?
Me: Yeah...
Him: Watch out uh, now got a lot of speed trap. Malaysian police simply "shoot" only.
("Shoot" - I think he meant the speed radar gun)
Me: Ok. I'm still new. I'll ride safe and keep to speed limit one lah.
Him: Good lah you wear your riding gear also. Must wear glove also uh.
Me: Got got, I got glove. Wear later. I zip up and tie up everything first.
(Since we've talked for quite a while, and he seems like a nice guy. I extended my hand and introduced myself.)
Me: By the way, I'm PingLong.
(And he shook my hand and introduced himself.)
Him: I'm Mohamad Nor.
Me: Mohamad Nor. Hi, nice to meet you. So now no longer ride at all?
Him: Now seldom lah. I park my bike at home here in Johor only and then take this small bike to SG to work everyday.
Me: I see....
Him: Last time I used to ride a lot one. A lot of ppl know me. Ah, if you go service your bike at PML, Mustafa also knows me.
Me: Is it?? Whoa...you must be very famous uh?
Him: You ask him lah, Mohamad Nor. Mohamad Nor, the TP.
Me: Err..TP? (show him my puzzled look, really puzzled, not pretending)
Him: Yeah, Traffic Police.
(*gulp, act cool)
Me: Oh..you're a Traffic Policeman in SG uh?
Him: Yeah. Ok lah, I'm going home now. You ride safely uh.
Me: Ok Ok. I will.....
Luckily in our conversation, before he introduced himself, I didn't try to brag to him abt how easy is it for me to speed on highway, commit any traffic offences or any other funny things. Hahaha.

2nd week of work in Manila. Rice with crab meat, very rich and I'm sure sinful It sucks! One of the national pasttimes here is Karaoke. Locally known as Videoke. Every pinoy I've met so far love to sing. They acknowledge most of them are not good singers. But they like the idea of friends or families getting together to sing, and to laugh at each other, generally having a good time together. So, in Philipinnes, instead of seeing those kiosks for taking photos or arcade games, you will also see booths for videoke. Choose your songs, slot in coins, and sing away! Their local "taxi" This....is a view of one of the firm's office in Manila. They have a few offices, but this one is where I'm posted to. Yes, it doesn't look completed. Yes, there're people inside working already. I asked the locals, "has this building been issued Certificate Fit for Occupation?". They look puzzled "what's that?". This i...
Man...i had the most unpleasant experience (so far) last night with Bertha. Went to Plaza Singapura for the 1st time with it. Going up the car park, no problem, no need to pay, can go thru the gap. Looking for a parking space, no problem. Went for dinner, buuurpp. Went shopping for toiletries, groceris, see see look look, shiok. Went back to the bike to go home, bike still there, no twisted soul jealous of it, no inadequately-trained car drivers accidentally backed into it or grazed it. Put my stuff in the panniers, put on helmet, start the engine, and vrooom i go. Go down level by level until the exit where the ticket scanner is. Oooppss!! BIIG PROBLEM. There're two lanes. I was too fast going into the right lane. Saw there's no gap between the barrier for bikes to go thru. Look around, saw a sign "Motorcycles keep LEFT"! Dammit, only the left lane has the gap. There's a concrete barrier btwn left and right lane. And I'm on a downslope. Stop the engine, get d...
