Wedding - Morning Ceremony

Beginning of new year, 2007. Other people celebrate by having a party. I went thru a wedding ceremony. haha.
THE event of the year, getting myself a bride, a kind-hearted fun-loving beautiful (albeit slightly wacky) bride.

After being together for 9 years, we finally got married. It was the happiest day of my life.

Photos for morning ceremony...

My beautiful bride

My bride with her family before 'giving' her away to me. muahahahahaha

Bride and her friends fooling around
before the groom arrives.

The photographer captured this, which tells me it was my wife herself who directed the jiemei's what to put into the drinks they made me gulp down afterwards. Hmmm.....how to punish her after she's mine....hmm hmm hmm

In the meantime, over at groom's side. The bridal car sitting pretty, waiting for the auspicious hour. Thank you Miki for lending us your brand-new car! Well, we did bring some 'fortune' to you :)

The bikers cute-tifying their bikes for the convoy.

'Tan Sri' Stephen cute-tifying himself.

Group photo before leaving.
Oi! Susan, what are you doing??
I'm getting married!
And your husband is just beside me! :p

Finally, the auspicious hour. The groom's leaving the house to fetch the bride.

through the street of JB.

Arriving at the lobby of Mutiara Hotel.

Before moving to Bridal Suite
to 'fight' for the bride.
Group photo for remembrance,
in case there's 'casualties' afterwards.

Reaching bridal suite soon....

Bridal suite in sight. How? Charge!!!!!

Alamak...got two gatekeepers there. Being the gentlemen we all are, we cannot charge with brute force liao, instead, negotiations and diplomacy...

The 2 demanding gatekeepers.

What the &*%&*$#@??!! Must pay 'entrance' fee? Must bribe?? Bo pian, pay loh. That's all I have in my wallet. You can take my credit card and swipe it yourself too. heheheh. Voices are heard behind the door. "NOT ENOUGH!!", they said. &^&%$%#@!! Ok lah, give some more loh...no choice. After wedding, I'm 'claiming' back from the bride. hmmph! If no $$$, then she has to pay with something else....

More gatekeepers behind the door

Finally, after emptying my wallet and suit pockets, they open the door.

Hmmm...I think there's more to come.
Shouldn't be this easy.

The girls' antics tells me, there're more obstacles ahead.

First, I got to sing and dance according to this.

So, we sang and goyang bontot a bit.

The girls are having fun 'torturing' me.

Next I need to pick the right lipstick mark that belongs to my wife.

I'm not trying to find which
the right one, coz it's
almost impossible!
I'm thinking more abt
what they will make me do
if i got it wrong.
I got it wrong, eventually.

Next, I got to pick the right arm that belongs to my bride from a series of photos. Arrrghhh...

Next, the girls unveil a concoction of ....
something black with a hint of
sourness when I sniffed at it.
No choice, I failed all my tests,
I have to drink it.

To make sure I didn't cheat, I have to show I really did drink it.

Next, I have to kneel and beg
my wife to let me in.

The girls said it's not up to my bride. Instead, I have to write something reeeeally mushy and touching before they let me in.

I wrote something.
My bride read it.
She's touched.
The rest feel mushy. I passed.

Finally, the final door opens. I'm allowed in.

With a bouquet of roses in hand,
the knight in shiny mandarin-collared
suit knelt to claim his bride.

One last thing, I read out what I wrote earlier so everybody can hear it. hahahah

Finally, I get to kiss my bride.

yipeee!!!

With bride's family

With the girls. I don't hate them.
It's all for fun. Thanks, girls!
btw, my bikers gang would like to get to know you. kekeke
(Seated, L-R) Nini, me, Sharon & Queenie.
(Standing, L-R) Oi Cin, Gek Lan, Jieru, Tomoko,
Miki & Anna.

Oooohhh....he likeeee.....

Come dear, time to go..

Mission Accomplished!

Yes dear...this is the one.

Leaving Mutiara, heading back to groom's house.

Convoy in formation.

We're very very very happy. Are you happy for us too? :)

The convoy rumbling through the
streets of JB again.

Check out the muscle.

Bride's father sheltering the bride
with an umbrella upon reaching groom's house.

A brief prayer to seek the blessing of ancestors and gods.

Stepping into the house as husband and wife.

On our matrimonial bed. Nice bed, don't u think, dear? hmm....

As per chinese custom,
tea-serving ceremony to seek the
blessing and acceptance from elders.

Those younger ones in the family also need to serve tea to us. For what? I don't know. So that they can 'ketuk' some angpow from us, I guess.

Feeding each other sweet desserts 'tang yuan'.
I think to signify wholesome happiness
in our marriage life.
