The MOVE

The inevitable has come, we have to move.

There's something wrong with our bathroom. We don't see what, but our neighbour downstairs have bubbles on her ceiling. The contractor came to assessed damage and told us that it needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Apparently it is something that should've been done 10 years ago. Rightfully, our landlord acknowledges this and will be footing the bill instead of blaming us and making us pay for the repair. He's also nice enough to find us a temporary apartment at such short notice.

The move took the entire weekend, starting on Friday right up till Sunday. We had to schedule everything around Erika and Ryan's needs. We made a total of 7 round trips with the Volvo XC70. And we moved only about 50% of our stuff! This gave us a taste of what it's like if we ever have to move permanently one day.

Lots of complain from the missus about the new apartment. Seems smaller. Lots of clean-up to do. It is on the 1st floor, too near the road, thieves can easily climb in. There's no lift, one flight of stairs to climb, very inconvenient with the prams. The store room is smaller. Laundry room is further, and we had to walk out of the building, not good for winter and rainy days. It has no kitchen hood, so no more hawker-style cooking. There're only 6 free uninteresting TV channels. There's no broadband internet, our life is over!.....for 3 months or so.
