Chinese New Year

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Chinese New Year! Xing Nian Kuai Le! May everyone have good health, prosperous and smooth career, and a very happy year ahead of you. For those single and pining for love, hope you finally get yourself a hot and sexy woman this year for guys, tall dark hunky and handsome boyfriend for girls. For those still 'confused', hope you figure it out this year. For those already got bf/gf, maybe you hope he will propose, maybe you hope she will propose, maybe you don't want to be pressured into getting married, maybe you hope to move in together, maybe you want to do something together, maybe you hope some things will last forever...whatever it is, I hope you get your wish and aspirations. For those married, well you already have everything. Just keep working on it. If you intend to have kids soon, maye you have healthy and obedient kids. And for those 'hunting' for golden tortoise, well I hope you get a 99.999999999% gold.

While the rest of chinese people have reunion dinner and celebrate CNY, things in Stockholm has been quiet. It was in the news, but I guess people here think it's only for people in China. Only one Dutch colleague made the connection between me as a chinese and CNY, so he gave me his best wishes and asked me about it. Other than that, things go on as usual - a normal working day.

Nevetheless, it has been a good week for me.

I watched my first movie in Sweden. It cost 90kr to watch a movie here. More than double the cost of ticket in Singapore. Those movies that have been shown for quite a while, the price will be slightly cheaper. For example, I could've watched Bee Movie for 75kr. Thank god they didn't dub movies here in local language. There's Swedish subtitles instead.

 
 
 
I started playing badminton again, after I stopped for several years. I thought it is an Asian game, but people here enjoy the sport too. Some of my colleagues are die-hard ice-hockey fans. They think badminton is sissy game. Yeah, wait till they get a smashing right in the face.

 
 
 
I started going to the gym to exercise. The last time I went to a gym was back in secondary school, training for rugby. Body aching all over afterwards. Had trouble lifting up cotton buds. But the cold weather and warm shower make it very shiok afterwards. Slept very well too.

The company is paying for my gym membership here. So, might as well use it. I'll be healthy. Wy wife will be happy. There are some….side effects though.
 
 
 
I finally got around to getting the TV to work. Found out that there's only digital broacast in Sweden. So, got myself a digital box.

On top of getting free-to-view channels, I also subscribed to BOXER TV, their version of cable tv. The guy at the shop recommended a local branded digital topbox, DILOG. It was top-rated by the local tech magazine for best value for money. Unfortunately, their instructions manual is in Swedish. So I had to forgo it. Got a Philips topbox instead. Brought it home, read the manuals, connect everything, perform setup, and now I can watch TV. Best thing is, their English programs has Swedish subtitles. Now I can even learn Swedish from TV! Channel surfed late one night, and duly discovered……….porn.
I wanted to publish a still from the porn here. But changed my mind, in case I run afoul of some law.
Included in the subscription as standard. It wasn't even listed in their brochure. Anyway, I'm ok with it since it's my wife's favourite.
 
 
 
Sweden is 7-hour behind the time in Malaysia. So while everyone back home is having their reunion dinner, I'm having lunch here.

This is my lunch where I reunite with the glutton in me. Actually, this 'reunion' happens every meal.
 
 
 
Despite being alone during CNY, I'm still in a good mood because my wife is coming soon! She was telling me the other day that I may be happy that she's coming over soon, but her own mum is feeling sad that her daughter is leaving her. I didn't think of that before this. Makes me feel selfish for taking her away from other people who loves her. But what am I supposed to do? Maybe I should get her to stay back so that other people will not be so miserable from missing her. Sacrifice one person's feeling(mine) is better than heartache for so many other people………. NO!!! She's mine, and she's coming with me! Hmmmph!

Seriously, I do not have a solution for this. That's life. I'm sure we will face the same situation when our own kids grow up and want to have their own life. Everybody will just have to learn to let go. Besides, they're not leaving permanently.

Bought a lot of stuff for her.



The winter parka is the smallest available - XXS. I deliberately took a picture together with mine to compare sizes. I wear "L" by the way. I've shrunked, I used to wear "XL" or "XXL".
Apart from these, bought some other stuff as well. Some, will remain private. But all to make her as comfortable as possible at home to enjoy her porn while I'm at work.

Man...i had the most unpleasant experience (so far) last night with Bertha. Went to Plaza Singapura for the 1st time with it. Going up the car park, no problem, no need to pay, can go thru the gap. Looking for a parking space, no problem. Went for dinner, buuurpp. Went shopping for toiletries, groceris, see see look look, shiok. Went back to the bike to go home, bike still there, no twisted soul jealous of it, no inadequately-trained car drivers accidentally backed into it or grazed it. Put my stuff in the panniers, put on helmet, start the engine, and vrooom i go. Go down level by level until the exit where the ticket scanner is. Oooppss!! BIIG PROBLEM. There're two lanes. I was too fast going into the right lane. Saw there's no gap between the barrier for bikes to go thru. Look around, saw a sign "Motorcycles keep LEFT"! Dammit, only the left lane has the gap.
