Yen Can Cook 080509 - Guo Tie

Mrs Tang is very adventurous today. She's been planning to make Guo Tie for the past few days. I first spied some minced meat inside the fridge when I covertly tried to take a few scoops of ice creams. Then she's been spotted playing with tissue papers. Practising pleating the dough, she says. Kind of like brain surgeon practising before opening up a patient's skull for real. Only this is tougher, according to her. So today she's finally ready for the real thing.
Training the Guo Tie Army
While she has the glamorous job of making the guo tie, I've been assigned the thankless task of shredding chicken meat for our meehoon soup. Yes, we're also having meehon soup. Guo tie is just the side dish.
Army of guo tie in formation. The parade before facing the toughest battle in their short but glorious life, up against the menacing forces of hot 100% pure extra virgin olive oil. The battlefield, a frying pan. Their mission, hold the line and prevent their fillings from bursting out while being pan-fried. Their glory, being devoured gracefully by Mr & Mrs Tang.

And the result? ..... Let's focus on her mee hoon soup. Mmmm...her meehon soup so sedap.
Some other things she made over the week Ang Koo Kueh Kerabu Seafood We also ate fresh cherries
