Pancakes & Gamla Stan

Weather today was slightly better than yesterday, although still wet. But we didn't want to waste our weekend at home. So, went out anyway. To Gamla Stan (Old Town). It is a small island in the center of Stockholm. It is said that Stockholm started from this small island centuries ago, before farming out to surrounding islands. The Royal Palace is situated in the middle of this island on top of a hill. The royal family no longer stays here. They moved to another island outside town (for privacy I think), while the existing palace has been converted to a museum. This whole island is now a tourist spot.

For a change, I did the cooking today. Made pancakes for breakfast. We both enjoyed it. Ate with cheese, and maple syrup. Energy food for lots of walking today.

Tired from walking, decided to eat. Found this small cafe where there's an underground dining area. They converted the wine cellar into a restaurant. We were eating in near pitch-black. The room was illuminated only by candles. Hard to see what we put in our mouth.

Going underground.

It is dark in here.

Deliberately took photo with flash, just to check on what they serve us.

After eating, go out and walk some more.

My viking woman warrior. Don't mess with her. I'm intimidated by the way she cut carrots.

Very satisfied with our walk today. Had a very good weekend. If it didn't rain, it would've been perfect.
