Encouraged by my first 2 successful attempts at cooking spaghetti, I'm becoming more adventurous and more determined to be a better cook.
I know I need to be more systematic, and be more exact in my steps so that success can be replicated again, and again, and again. And I also need to document the exact steps.
I've done it twice already so far. I can do it again. No problem. Peace of cake. My wife will be impressed. She's not the only one who can cook, u know.. *snigger*
Found this at the supermarket; carbonara sauce. Unfortunately instructions are in Swedish. Minor obstacle.
Just translate it over the web using online tool.
Mix content in pot with 3dl of milk. Boil and stir around 2-3 minutes. Serve! Easy...
This should be the last step. Let's do other things I've been doing all this while first.

This is the meatballs I bought from supermarket.
Again, instructions are in Swedish. Easily translated again.
Instead of frying or using the microwave, I boiled them. I improvised. They started to float after around 3 minutes. I boiled 10 of them for exactly 4 minutes.
Extract, cut each one of them to half, and put them aside for later.
|
Next, the spaghetti itself. Take exactly 40 strands
Boil those 40 strands for exactly 12 minutes. I've determined previously that it takes that long to soften them appropriately.
Extract and put them aside for later.

Finally, the sauce. It says "mix content into pot with 3dl of milk".
Challenge #1: How much is 3dl? I've never used this unit measurement b4. Look up the internet, it's around 0.3 liter.
Challenge #2: How do I meisure 0.3 liter when I have no measuring cup around? Ah, lucky I kept a soft drink bottle.
Challenge #3: Soft drink bottle shows 50cl, how? I've never used this unit measurement b4! Look up the internet, 50cl = 5dl.
Ahh, I need 3dl of milk. So the best I can do for now is pour milk into the bottle till it's 3/5 filled. Then pour from the bottle into the pot.
Pour the content of the carbonara sauce packet into milk and stir for 2-3 minutes.

Once the sauce is ready, mix in meatballs and spaghetti.
I remember Spaghetti carbonara will be better with some cheese. VoilĂ !
And the result..
I don't know whether to eat this or throw it away..........................
