Trying out Singapore Armed Forces Combat Ration Courtesy of my Accenture colleague NSMan Tji Hun who is nice enough to let me try out their field food. Combat ration set Glutinous rice with chicken rendang. This is a bit dry, but edible. Japanese curry noodle with chicken. This one is surprisingly tasty. Red bean dessert. This one is quite good. Or maybe it's just me liking sweet stuff. Got menu some more.

The Code After watching Da Vinci Code, I'm convinced everything in this world is coded in some ways to tell us something about our past, how we ended where we are now, and where we're heading into. In DVC, Templar Knights have been protecting the Holy Grail. In present time, Robert Langdon has been tasked to protect P.S. a.k.a. Princes Sophie whose true identity, if revealed to the world, will shake the very foundation of church's power on earth. I'm convinced, I am actually a TemPLar knight, tasked to find, woo, marry and protect P.S. a.k.a..... Princess Sharon, whose true identity, if revealed to the world, will shake the very foundation of my mediocre life. Hey, who says P.S. cannot be a chinese? If there's no proof that says Mary is a prostitute, or that J.C. is a god, or just an extraordinary man, then I think it's possible that somewhere along the bloodline, one of them decide to marry a chinese, produce an offspring and ship him/her to Nepal or some...

Oxymoron? "I'm certain that nothing is certain in this world" Not said by me. Doesn't make sense to me because it's contradictory. Is this considered an oxymoron? According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition Copyright © 2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company: n. pl. ox·y·mo·ra (-môr, -mr) or ox·y·mo·rons A rhetorical figure in which incongruous or contradictory terms are combined, as in a deafening silence and a mournful optimist. In this case, it's not two terms. It's a complete sentence, albeit a simple one. What do you call it then?

"Good-Looking" category My wife said I'm not in her category of good-looking. Yeap, those are the exact words she used: "not in her category of good looking" I have not been able to pick up ALL the shattered pieces of my heart ever since. When you women ask us men whether have you grown fat, or do you still look good in that little black dress, you expect us to lie. Why O why can't u do the same? *sob *sob

LUCK There are two types of luck. 1. You're lucky because good things happen to you all the time . You strike 1st prize in the lottery or Toto. You win a car in a lucky draw. A big boss spotted you and offer you a job with perks you can't refuse. The value of your house increase ten-fold right after you signed the S&P. You go on holiday to Japan, upon touching down at the airport, local tourism officials grandly welcome you and lavish you with gifts and vouchers and pay for your expenses because you are the 10th million visitor for that year. You reserved a deluxe hotel room but got upgraded to Presidential Suite upon checking-in because they overbooked. You are born with good looks and good genes. Or 2. You're lucky because no bad things happen to you, yet . You got into an accident, but escaped with no injuries. The value of your house dropped right after you signed the S&P with the buyer. The flight which you missed, crashed. Right after you sold your sto...

People who don't give it their all in a relationship are setting themselves up for disappointment I've heard stories of mothers asking their daughters to stash away some money without their husband's knowledge, "just in case". People who dates more than one partner at the same time, "just in case" the first one didn't work out. Fathers asking their sons to draw up pre-nup for their would-be wives. Partners play mind games with each other, not willing to be frank and honest with each other. I can understand it if one party senses that the relationship is going downhill due to some reason. Or if there's a slight hint of infidelity and you want to protect yourself and your children in case it turns out to be true. What I don't get is when people do this when they have what could have been a perfect relationship, when there's no sign of your partner cheating at all, when you're just starting to build a relationship or family and then...

LOVE is... Waking up in the morning and look at each other affectionately....then playfully compete to see whose breath stinks the worst by blowing into each other's face! While having hard-boiled eggs for breakfast, eat the egg yolks and let her have the egg whites simply because it's healthier (insists she have the oats while I have the roti canai instead too). Driving and accompany her to work...even though it's my off day. At lunch, strip the flesh off a chicken drumstick....and let her have the bone. Sharing her with her pet dog, letting it climb all over me, chew on my fingers and toes for play, making me smell quite like it after a while. Instead of getting my dream bike, choose to save up for our upcoming wedding, and to own our first home. Letting her have the newly-bought handphone while I take her used ones, everytime. Treating her to japanese food even though I'm drooling at the thoughts of dishes at New Paris: Deep-fried squid, teochew-style...

"Action-packed" My wife gave me an earful regarding my earlier post on the poly girl home video. She accused me of implying that she's at fault for my lack of...'action'. She's a bit upset because this blog can be read by anybody and now her image has been tainted. So, I would like to clarify here, the reason I hardly get any 'action' is because of our unique circumstances. We're married, but physically separated due to our work commitment. When we do meet, fuuuh *smack lips*, I DO get a LOT of 'action'. So much, till my knees go weak, I feel like fainting all the time, I had to behave like a monk for weeks afterwards. Yeap, my wife tires me, I can't keep up with her. I am referring to the action of slimming-down-exercise kind, thank you very much.

Bigfoot This is really getting out of hand. They're starting to produce 'evidence' now. How convenient, don't you think? All this while, not much have been heard other than hearsay from those who live close to the jungle. And these people should know the forest better since their livelihood depends on it, so they should be more familiar than the rest of us and yet they didn't produce any evidence. Now that this issue has garnered such widespread interests, 'evidence' starts to appear, supposedly 'discovered' by scientists, academics, tv crews, talk show hosts, who are mostly city-living people.

hypocrisy The west like to preach on open market, market liberalization and fair play. Very often, when others do not conform, they will be threatened with sanctions, withdrawal of aids, etc. This business between Australia and Singapore clearly shows Australia don't walk the talk. Smaller (mostly asian) countries have to open up to them, but when it's their turn to open up, they decide to play the "protect national interests" card. Don't smaller countries need to protect their own interests as well? .. Singapore said they want in for the sake of their clientele's interests. Come on, the only reason they want in is because they know it's lucrative - Qantas gets up to 15% of their profit from that route. If you're really acting on our interests, how come your fares are among the highest in the world? You earn around a billion a year, bring down the fare a bit lah. If you really care about us, then let AirAsia compete with you on the KL-Singapore ...

17-year old Nanyang Poly Girl home video Something is not quite right here. Despite being married, I get very little 'action', if none at all, I don't remember. So, my knowledge and experience is extremely limited. Ask my wife, she may know better. Anyway, if I'm not wrong (I may be wrong 'coz I have limited knowledge and experience, remember?), this act of...sex... requires at least two parties or two person, not necessarily a guy and a girl because, you know, these days...anyway, so yeah it requires more than one person. Why are they concentrating only on the 17 year old girl? How come only she undergoes counselling? How come the school only meets her family? What about the boyfriend? Am I missing something here? Did "Tammy" drugged her bf and took advantage of him while he's unconscious or raped him or molested him or what? Was she the one who tricked her bf into giving her his virginity all in the name of love when the truth is she just want...

I've been in this project for 2 years already. Things just go on and on until it's becoming meaningless. Endless codings, endless logic, endless documentation, endless dealing with ...... {censored} users. The nice and competent ones are around, everybody would prefer them, but dealings with them are mostly short and simple, straight to the point, straightforward, not much hassle. Instead, the {censored} ones are the one that take up most of your time and requires more effort, gives you more headache, and in some cases, heartache. Why can't I be more like people in my dad's generation? Stay in a job for almost their whole life, doing almost the same thing for years, face the same group of people for ages, and no complaints. Make things a lot easier this way. Don't have to think so much. Do something I have passion in, they say. If I get a hundred dollars for every bowl of beef noodle I eat, you think I'll still be working here? If I get money for every miles I...

We come to this world to suffer According to Buddhism, human come to earth to suffer. I didn't make this up, the monk who performed the rites at my mum's funeral said this to me. We have to suffer at birth. We have to suffer while growing up. We have to suffer a bit to feed ourselves. We have to suffer in order to experience happiness. We have to suffer before we get that girl we like. We suffer some more after getting the girl. We have to suffer before we can be rich. We have to suffer when we grow old. Finally, we have to suffer the pain of death. Seems to me, all roads lead to suffering in the end. By default, we suffer. In the end, we suffer. Happiness, satisfaction, joy - these are only temporary. So why are we doing whatever is it we're doing now? What for? The monk said that with my mum's passing, her suffering has ended. People with terminal diseases, why should others insist that they fight and go through painful and uncomfortable treatment that doesn...

Do you ever LEAVE this world? When we die, what happens to our soul or consciousness? Does it just ... disappear? Maybe it's something like energy, it doesn't disappear. It's just passed on to other forms. So it is with human, when we die, there's a greater power up there or down somewhere that collects our souls and inserts it into another living being. Maybe there's a finite number of souls on earth - say 10 trillion. Earth was once roamed by 10 trillion animals. Then human comes along. It's common knowledge today that human population has been increasing centuries by centuries while great number species of animals are going into extinction. If it is ever possible to count the total number of living beings on earth, maybe we'll find that there're just 10 trillion of us - human and animal combined. Maybe that's how Reincarnation works.
